On a quiet Friday afternoon, Shelton invited Seymour to their pool to have a little pool party or maybe it was to avenge last year’s loss.  Shelton has been having a good season behind swimmers like Hunter Wronski and Reid Chavez; While Seymour has had similar results behind their stars. 

 

Both Seymour and Shelton have some impressive frontline swimmers, Seymours Alex Cupic, Zach Fell and freshman Jack Crocamo had the task of out dualing the Wronski - Chavez  duo. 

 

The 200 MR team of Maleri, Wronski, Marciano, Chavez set the tone for Shelton as they took first in a come from behind squeaker posting a 1:44.08 to Seymour’s 1:44.40.

 

Wronski without much rest from the first event won the 200 free with a strong back half swim against Zach Fell in 1:50.52.  

 

The two teams would again showcase their top frontline swimmers in the 200 IM, the race pitted Reid Chavez and Alex Cupic.  The two swimmers swam an outstanding race only to be decided at the touch when Chavez touched out Cupic, 2:03.22 to 2:03.42.

 

Freshman Jack Crocamo would capture Seymour’s first win of the afternoon in the 50 free when he splashed and dashed a 23.77 with teammate Hunter Cripps grabbing the two spot in 24.26.

 

After a brief mid meet warm up, Shelton’s Jack Marciano took the 100 fly with a 58.73.  Seymour’s Freshman Jack Crocamo and Shelton’s Reid Chavez went head to head in the 100 free, once the water settled Chavez came away with the win swimming a 51.29. 

 

Zach Fell hopped in the pool and won the 500 free in 5:21.12 but the biggest story in this event was the courage and guts of Ken Walsh who finished the race out of the money but with a huge smile of accomplishment!  Kudos and congrats to Ken!

 

The Seymour team of Fell, Cripps, Sokhan, Cupic would run away with the sprint relay with a time of 1:40.87.  Shelton got back on track by winning the 100 backstroke with Marc Maleri popping a 1:00.12. 

 

In the 100 breaststroke two of the top breastrokers in the state battled to the touch Shelton’s Hunter Wronski posted a 1:02.20 to win the event while Cupic finished in 1:02.73.

 

Shelton put  a wrap on the day when the 400 free relay team of Cristiano, Maleri, Chavez and Wronski smashed the heat with a 3:39.14.  Shelton won the meet 93-77.
