Glastonbury 94 - Amity 88

Amity and Glastonbury got together for a dual in the pool on Glastonbury’s senior night celebration.   This meet would mark the last dual meet for Vinh Hoang, Matthew Mastroianni and Nicolas Tricard in the Glastonbury High School Pool!  If they received the same warm welcome from Coach Suzie Hoyt when I walked in the pool each time they entered the pool they are sure to miss their time spent carving their place in school history.  Good luck to the three folks moving on to the next chapter.

The meet kicked off with one of those seniors, Matt Mastroianni, torching the final leg of the 200MR to win the event in 1:44.14.  Vinh Hoang did his duty to anchor the other relay, which captured the third spot.  Chris Walker dominated the 200 free with a 1:50.05 to quickly put Glastonbury up by 12 points.

Glastonbury would continue the dominance as the swept the 200 IM led by MacAllister Milne’s 2:01.35.  The lead over Amity grew to 22 points entering the 50 free.  Amity would finally taste a win as Colin Roy beat the heat with a 22.46.  Mastroianni , Lee and Tricard neutralized the win by finishing 2-3-5.

Diving would be the straw that broke the camels back when they pulled out the brooms led by Ethan Godfrey’s 256.25-point performance.  Glastonbury now with a 33 point lead which would set the tone for the back half of the meet and the send off for the Seniors.

Amity would get a little spark from Kevin Yanagisawa when he won the 100 fly with a 54.58 to beat Mastroianni by .01.  Galstonbury would finish 2-3-4 to steal the event.

Chris Walker would have no problem in the 100 free as he won the event with a 49.95 and senior Vinh Hoang took third with a 53.75.  Milne would out swim Yanaigsawa in the 500 free when he finished with a 4:53.71.

The 200FRR would clinch the meet for Glastonbury when they took 1-3 and giving them the coveted 94th point.
