Two NVL teams came together to celebrate the final dual meet of the season before the championship season begins.  For Seymour, it would be the last time the seniors would swim a high school dual meet in their home pool and for Oxford, it would be the last time the seniors were to swim in a high school dual meet.

 

There was an anticipation of strong match –ups between each teams front line swimmers and it started right away as each team loaded the 200 medley relay.   The match-up could be a prelude to the finals at the NVL Championship meet.  The team of Moran, Fogarty, Logan, Moran of Oxford won the event when they out touched Seymour with a 1:44.17, Seymour finished with a 1:44.33.

 

Seymour would make amends by taking first and second in the 200 free led by Zach Fell with a easy swim of 1:58.14.  In one of the anticipated match-ups we saw Spencer Moran take on Alex Cupic in the 200 IM.  After the Butterfly this race was all Moran as he posted a 2:00.60 to win the event for Oxford.  Freshman Jack Crocamo would sprint to victory in the 50 free with a time of 23.41 before the break.

 

Oxford opened up the back half of the meet with Logan Law winning the 100fly with a strong finish and a time of 1:00.79.  Oxford would pull back-to-back wins after John Moran won the 100 free with a time of 52.28.  This set up another feature match-up by pairing Spencer Moran taking on hoe pool favorite Zach Fell, this one turned out to be a dominating win by Spencer Moran as he motored to a 5:01.99.  The sprint relay would gp to the team of Fell, Cupic, Cripps, Crocamo with an almost eight second victory.

 

Logan would pick up his second individual win of the night in the 100 backstroke with a 1:05.68 but with Seymour’s 2-3-4 it essentially thwarted the Oxford challenge.  Sophmore Alec Cupic would win the 100 breastroke for Seymour in a 1:03.66 to clinch the meet.  The final event went to Oxford’s Moran, Noran, Law, Fogarty with a time of 3:40.23. Seymour would capture the meet 89-81.  Each of these teams will have a strong showing in the NVL Championships.
